Gold Class Swim Clinics provide swimmers with the opportunity to work with some of the best swimming coaches and athletes in the world. At each clinic, swimmers are provided with feedback and guidance to help improve their stroke technique and swimming skills.

Gold Class Swimming are offering junior and age group competitive swimmers the opportunity to work with three of Australia’s leading swimming coaches and educators.
Being one of a select group working with highly credentialed coaches Leigh Nugent (2 x Australian Olympic Head Coach) and Rohan Taylor (2 x Olympic Team Coach), each swimmer will benefit significantly by improving their swimming efficiency and understanding of the sport through this unique opportunity.

Former Australian Head Coach Leigh Nugent led a breaststroke and a freestyle clinic which were attended by swimmers from around the Rockingham and Perth regions.

Three clinics were conducted by former Australian Head Coach Leigh Nugent and leading coach of junior and age group swimmers Gary Barclay. The clinics focused on improving body position, stroke technique and skills in backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke.

Churchlands Senior High School, Churchlands, WA – Sunday 8 April 2018
Former Australian Head Coach Leigh Nugent led two breaststroke clinics and a freestyle clinic for both boys and girls at Churchlands Senior High School, Churchlands WA. The focus of each clinic will be on improving body position, stroke technique and skills in breaststroke or freestyle. Clinics were 1hr 45min long and at the conclusion of each clinic, Leigh chatted for 10 minutes with the parents.

February 2018 – Novar Gardens SA
On Sunday 18 February, Leigh Nugent coached at three breaststroke clinics at Immanuel College Sports Centre in Novar Gardens, SA. Clinics were provided for swimmers aged 10 & 11 years who are swimming multiple times per week and swimmers aged 12 years and over in squad.
February 2018 – Bunbury WA
On Sunday 11 February, Leigh Nugent led three breaststroke clinics at South West Sports Centre, Hay Park, Bunbury WA. Two clinics were provided for swimmers aged 10 to 12 years who are swimming multiple times per week and one clinic was for swimmers aged 13 years and over in squad.
February 2018 – Brighton East VIC
Gary Barclay, Leigh Nugent and Rohan Taylor led a series of 4 clinics focusing on freestyle technique and starts and turns over a two day weekend, 3 & 4 February. The clinics were held at St Leonards in Brighton East, Victoria and more than 100 swimmers took part across the weekend.
August 2017 – Forrestfield WA
Leigh Nugent ran a series of 3 clinics focusing on freestyle and backstroke at Darling Range Sports College, Forrestfield in Western Australia on Sunday 6th August.
July 2017 – Ringwood East VIC
On Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th July a series of 5 clinics were conducted at Tintern Grammar in Ringwood East, Victoria. These included extended one hour 45 minute clinics for each stroke and a unique clinic focusing on starts and turns.
July 2017 – Corio, Geelong VIC
On Thursday 6th July Leigh and Gary headed to Geelong, Victoria for another two clinics at the Handbury Centre at Geelong Grammar School in Corio, Victoria. These breaststroke and butterfly clinics were very well received.
July 2017 – Ballarat VIC
A further two breaststroke and butterfly combined clinics were held at Ballarat Uni in the UniSports Swimming Pool at Mount Helen on Sunday 9th July 2017.
May 2017 – Warnbro WA
Three swim clinics were conducted by Leigh Nugent at Aqua Jetty in Warnbro, Western Australia on Sunday 21 May 2017. The focus on these clinics was again on freestyle and backstroke.
March 2017 – Joondalup WA
Three very successful swim clinics were conducted in Joondalup, Western Australia in March 2017. 20 swimmers took part in each clinic with a focus on freestyle and backstroke.
January 2017 – Perth WA
Three clinics were held in Perth, Western Australia in mid January 2017. The response to these first clinics were overwhelming with all clinics selling out in less than 2 hours. The focus in these clinics was on freestyle and backstroke.
July 2016 – Ringwood East VIC
A series of five swim clinics were held in July 2016 at Tintern Grammar indoor 25m pool in Ringwood East, Victoria.
The clinics catered for junior and age group swimmers aged 10 to 14 years. Each 2 hour clinic had 24 to 32 swimmers with one clinic held on each stroke, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly and a final clinic on starts and turns.
November 2015 – Toorak VIC
Gold Class Swim Clinic 2 was held at Loreto Mandeville Hall in Toorak, Victoria, Australia in November 2015.
25 swimmers aged 11 to 15 years were joined by coaches Leigh Nugent and Gary Barclay for a 3 hour clinic focusing on breaststroke and freestyle.
August 2015 – Brighton East VIC
The first Gold Class Swim Clinic was held at St Leonards College in Brighton East, Victoria, Australia in August 2015.
20 swimmers aged 11 to 15 years were joined by coaches Leigh Nugent, Rohan Taylor and Gary Barclay for a 3 hour clinic focusing on breaststroke and butterfly.
Photos and video footage may be taken during each clinic. When booking in for a clinic parents and swimmers may be required to sign a release form so that all images and video footage taken at a clinic may be used to promote Gold Class Swimming and its programs in the future. Filming and photos are not taken at all clinics.
